Mariano "Marty" Viernes, 78, of Ewa Beach, an Air Force veteran, died in the Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Waimea, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Jean, sons Daniel P. Viernes and Edward Saffer, brother Rosario, sister Helen Santos and a grandchild. Visitation: 9 a.m. Aug. 12 at Ballard Family Moanalua Mortuary.
