BETTY (CHUN) FUNAYAMA
$nameBETTY (CHUN) FUNAYAMA Betty (Chun) Funayama passed away to join her loving husband, Warren, on June 15, 2016. Betty leaves behind a brother, Joe (Florence) Chun; sister, Ann (Ronald) Komine; and brother-in-law, Robert Perreira; and many nieces and nephews, as well as lifelong friends. Private graveside services were held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Betty retired from the State of Hawaii after 38 years of service as an administrative secretary. Betty and Warren enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. Their travels to Europe and the Far East were awesome, breathtaking and filled with history and culture. They also attended many business conventions in different parts of the country. Betty was known to be a very organized and neat person. Her home was always immaculate. She loved to talk and shop and enjoyed all kinds of foods. She also enjoyed the companionship of her many friends. Betty, a philanthropist, has donated to cancer and other medical research: the U.H. Cancer Center, Straub Clinic & Hospital Cardiology Department and the Queen's Liver Center in the hope that one day we will find a cure for cancer and other life threatening diseases.
