80J. Brian Hughes, 85, of Honolulu, a structural engineer and a veteran of the British Army Corps of Royal Engineers, died. He was born in Surbiton, Surrey, England. He is survived by son Gary; daughters Anna Hollman, Mara Kyle and Quahlee Lassila; brother Elwyn N.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Private services.
