Larry Kirkland, 80, of Kailua-Kona, a Federal Aviation Administration environmental support unit retiree and a Marine Corps sergeant, died in Hospice of Kona's Nakamaru Hale. He was born in Vallejo, Calif. He is survived by wife Merleene; daughters Sue Lynn Compton, Kaleikaimana Mookini, Lori Hobby and Tracey Sheridan; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private services.
