Sidney Hashimoto, 80, of Kailua, a Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard shipfitter and an Army veteran, died in Castle Medical Center. He was born in South Kona, Hawaii. He is survived by sons Sidney, Eugene and Nathan; daughters Laurie Ann Martin, Dora Largo and Adrienne Chee; brothers Simeon, Chris and Arnold; sister Lorraine Medeiros; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Sept. 9 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Honaunau. Mass: 9 a.m. Burial to follow at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery, Kailua-Kona. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
