PORTIA YIM ROSEHILL
PORTIA YIM ROSEHILL Passed away on April 11, 2016. Born in Honolulu, T.H., on December 9, 1925, to Emma Ai Chang and Sam Whiting Yim, Portia was one of six children. She grew up in Liliha and attended the Kamehameha Schools (Class of 1943), where she met and later married W. Norman Rosehill, Jr. Together, they moved to Kahala, and reared three children; Stefany, Kekaulike and Stacy. After retiring as a civilian employee from the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers, Portia became an ambassador for Seawind Tours & Travel, Inc. She spent the last 28 years imparting her knowledge, wisdom and passion for travel to everyone she met. She was devoted to her family and friends and proud of their accomplishments and probably best known for her eagerness to share stories of her 90 years with all who would listen. Portia enjoyed entertaining and derived great pleasure in cooking for others. She was a skilled flower arranger and somewhat of a fashionista and she maintained her own sense of style throughout her life. Portia is survived by daughters Stefany Wallach and Stacy Rosehill-Baker, and son Kekaulike Rosehill and his husband, Kevin Kelly; sister, Betty Shodahl; grandchildren, Shelby Schultz, Shawna Wallach and Quinn Baker; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth and Catherine Schultz. Services will be at Central Union Church, Atherton Chapel on Saturday, September 17th. Visitation is at 1:00 p.m. and Services are at 2:00 p.m. Aloha attire is requested. Leis/ loose flowers are welcome and will accompany Portia's cremated remains at a private, ocean ceremony later that day.
