74Stephen Donald Sands, 86, of Captain Cook, Hawaii, an architectural designer and artist, died at home. He was born in Providence, R.I. He is survived by nephew Christopher Rooney. Visitation: 8 a.m. Sept. 24 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, also known as Painted Church, in Honaunau, Hawaii. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
