David Naoiwi "Butchie" Kauwalu Sr., 75, of Mitchell, S.D., a City and County of Honolulu retiree and an Army veteran, died. He was born in Waialua. He is survived by wife June; son David Jr.; daughters Dayna Sanchez, Davelynn Kauwalu and Denise K. Schultz; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
