FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Nobue Kuwada Ching
88, died peacefully at her home on November 10, 2016. Nobue was born in Lanai City, Lanai, Hawaii on April 14, 1928 to the late Nobukane and Shizue Kuwada. She was the third of five children. Nobue attended Lahainaluna High School on Maui, Hawaii and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hawaii. As a Medical Technologist, she worked in various locations including Honolulu, Chicago, Salt Lake City, the San Francisco Bay area and Alexandria, Virginia. On February 20, 1954, she married Kim W. Ching, an Air Force officer. Kim's Air Force career took Nobue overseas to Japan, Taiwan, and the Philippines, and to many places within the United States including California, Hawaii, Nebraska and the Washington DC area. Nobue and Kim retired to Alexandria, Virginia in 1980 and eventually moved to Springfield, Virginia. Nobue loved playing golf, playing bridge, traveling and visiting with friends. Nobue is the beloved wife of Kim Ching of Springfield, VA, loving and devoted mother of Shelley Ching (Michael Dykstra) of Apex, NC and Jeff (Judy) Ching of Colorado Springs, CO, proud grandmother of Emily Dykstra of Apex, NC and sister of the late Hatsue Okamoto, Richard Kuwada, Grace Novitski and Jane Thornburg.
