DIED NOVEMBER 16, 2016 Kathleen "Kitty" Schauer, 92, was born on March 9, 1924 in Honolulu, lived and died in Honolulu. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 44 years, Col. William "Willy" Schauer Jr., USAF (Ret). Surviving are daughters Cathleen O'Brien of California and Nancy Strahle of Washington. Also surviving are step-son David Schauer, seven step-grandchildren and 11 step- great-grandchildren. Private services at a later date, as Kitty has donated her body to the University of Hawaii School of Medicine for medical research and teaching. Also at a later date, ashes containing shares of "Willy" and "Kitty" shall be scattered in Ainakoa Valley, Waialae Ridgeline, Honolulu. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Hawaii.
