Manuokafoa Penitani
Manuokafoa Penitani, 42, of Honolulu, passed away on November 26, 2016 in Honolulu. Manuokafoa was born on May 30, 1974, to Vuna Penitani and Alisi L. Sandys in American Samoa. After moving to Hawaii, he attended Kaiser High, UH Lab, and Kahuku High School. He was an All-American football player at Diablo Valley College. He married Lori Medcalf on June 28, 2008 in Utah. Manu was a world class bass player and professional musician who performed with League of Nations, Ulise, Bamboo, Roots Odyssey, Swamp Cat Productions and most recently with Isle Five and Nesian Nine. He is survived by his wife, Lori Penitani; children, Filisione Penitani, Viliami Penitani, Niki Johnson, Emeline Rodriquez, Brittani Hemphill, & Keiffer Lym; Siblings, Filisione Penitani, John Penitani, Cinderella Penitani, & Aleki Penitani; Nephews, Isileli Penitani & Sergio Penitani; Niece, Juanita Penitani; Grandson, Kekua`okalanialoha Luhia; and father, Vuna Penitani. Manu was a gentle giant, had a big heart, and was loved by all. He adored his family and friends. Celebration of life will be on Friday, December 9, 2016, at St. Elizabeths Episcopal Church, 720 N. King St. Honolulu. Visitation is at 9:00AM and Service to begin at 12:00PM. Cremation to follow. The family requests that donations be made to "Manus Penitani" GOFUNDME.com.
