Michael Robert Henderson, 73, of Murrells Inlet, passed away Sunday, December 04, 2016 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. He was born March 1, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey, son of the late Robert and Helen Panaro Henderson. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Joan Henderson; step children, Alison Kolb and husband Kevin of SC, Monte Veal Jr. and wife Donna of SC; sisters Robin Alton of Cambridge, England and Janet Henderson and wife Ann of WA; and grandchildren Kinsley Kolb, Caleb Kolb and Trey Veal. Michael was a Veteran of the United States Navy and also a PGA Golf Pro which he thoroughly enjoyed. He lived in Hawaii for 38 years where he gained a passion for fishing, working with his hands, building furniture and model boats. A Graveside Service for Michael will take place Friday December 16, 2016 at 1:00PM at Florence National Cemetery, 803 E National Cemetery Rd, Florence, SC 29506 where Military Honors will be accorded. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Michael's name to the Blind Veteran's Association at www.bva.org.
