James Seio Horikami
James Seio Horikami (86) passed away on December 9, 2016. He was born on March 22, 1930 in Honolulu. He graduated from Kaimuki High School and the Culinary Institute of America. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a chef at Washington Place under Territorial Governor Samuel Wilder King. In the 1960s, he owned School Delicatessen and later worked at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard until his retirement in 1994. He is survived by wife, Setsuko Horikami, son Prof. Bryan Kenji Horikami of Salisbury, MD, and son Randall Kohji Horikami of Honolulu, HI. He was the son of the late Keizo and Hatsumo Horikami. A private service was held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Donations may be given in memory of James S. Horikami to the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System.
