July 13, 1950 - December 17, 2016, age 66 Anna was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on July 13, 1950 and transitioned to be with our Lord on December 17, 2016 in Los Angeles , California. Anna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunty and friend to many during her life. Anna was the daughter of Lee Edgar Sartain JR of Adger, Alabama and Elizabeth Joanne Hanley of Spokane, Washington and sister to Jesse W. Sartain, Michael Sartain, Lee E. Sartain 3rd, Luke Sartain, Daniel Sartain and Michelle Sartain-Eucker. Anna is survived by her husband of 44 years Ronald J. Velez and her children Christopher, Liz, James, RJ, Frank, Nani and Elizabeth along with 28 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren! Anna was a strong woman of Christian faith who consistently put others needs first and took many into her home over her life. She truly had the Spirit of Aloha and would accept all into her Ohana. So how befitting that Anna was a geriatric nurse for 20 years and had a big heart for the elderly and needy. Anna was a walking miracle, she fought and survived many cancers over the years with her strong Christian faith and will to live. Our beloved Anna went to be with our Lord on December 17, 2016 and we celebrate God's victory over her life and Soul! An intimate family gathering will be held to honor her life and transition here in Los Angeles and per her wishes, our family plans to take her remains back home to Hawaii in the near future for burial. Our precious Anna is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
