JAMES HARUO TAKUSHI, JIMMY James H. Takushi, former State Negotiator and Personnel Director for the State of Hawaii, beloved Dad and Grandpa at the age of 85 years old died at his home surrounded by family on Nov 14. He is survived by his two children Jon Takushi and Jan Bachman; step children: Starr Quon, Stanette Kitamura, Tammy Kimura (husband Harlan); grand- children: Jeffrey Takushi (wife Kailee), Jennifer Takushi, Jamie Takushi, Maya Bachman, Connor Kimura, Jayson Quon, Karli Quon, Candice Sakamoto (Husband Josh), Paula Asao, Stanton Asao, and Christian Kitamura; great grandchildren: Cade. James was raised in Kalihi and was the youngest of eight children. His parents were immigrants from Okinawa. He was a US Army Veteran and served in the Korean war. He headed the state's personnel and human resources department under three Hawaii governor's and was a one-time key lieutenant for the Democratic Party of Hawaii. We will celebrate and honor his life. The funeral will be held at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, 2233 Nuuanu Avenue, on Sunday, January 8th. Visitation at 3:00pm and Service at 4:00pm.
