Jane Mitsuko YonamineIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jane Mitsuko Yonamine on Monday Dec. 5, 2016 surrounded by her family. Jane was born in Kamuela, Hawaii to Paul and Kameyo Iwashita. She was the third of five children. Jane grew up in Hawaii but moved to Japan after her marriage to Wally Yonamine. Wally was the first American to play professional baseball in Japan after World War II. Jane created her own legendary career by being the first American business woman to have a successful pearl business in the heart of Tokyo, Japan since 1964. Jane is survived by her sister, Dorothy Seki, 3 children, Amy(Ted) Roper, Wallis (Dennis) Yamamoto and Paul (Lynda) Yonamine, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was a loving matriarch and her immense generosity to so many will be missed. Memorial services will be held at Diamond Head Memorial Park in Honolulu, Hawaii on Feb 4, 2017 11:00 am.
