Mary Elizabeth Sakamoto, 83, of Kaneohe, widow of Thomas "Tommy" Sakamoto, passed away peacefully in her home on December 13, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Honolulu. Survived by 3 sons, Garrett (Marcella), Donald, and Curtis (Tracey) Sakamoto; 2 sisters, Louise Coelho, and Karen Shrode; 5 grandchildren, Sandra (Sean) Wedemeyer, Vernon, Wayland, Jason, and Justin Sakamoto; 2 great- grandchildren, Kassidy and Kamille Wedemeyer; many nieces and nephews. Visitation 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Kaneohe; Eulogy 10:45 a.m. followed by Mass. Private inurnment at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
