Edward Saffery Porter, Jr.
Edward passed away on November 2, 2016 at his home in Fair Oaks, Calif at the age of 63. Eddie was raised in Kaimuki where he graduated from Kalani High School, class of 1971. After high school he served in the U.S. Navy. He then attended Kapiolani Community College where he received his Certificates in Culinary Arts and Bartending. He retired as a food service manager and chef tor Carmichael's Oak's Senior Long Term Care in Fair Oaks, Calififornia. Eddie's passions in life were playing golf, paddling canoe for Waikiki Surf Club, traveling and listening to Hawaiian music and the Beatles. Edward is survived by his brothers, Brant (Dierdre) and "Keoki" George (Fay); ex-wife Terry Ann, close friend Victoria and nieces and nephews. Scattering of his ashes will be held off of Waikiki on Sunday, January 15, 2017 where he loved to swim, surf and paddle canoe. Meet at the Ala Wai boat house (on the corner of McCully and Kapiolani) at 10:00 am.
