92, of Honolulu, passed away on December 22, 2016 in Hospice Hawaii Kailua Home. Born in Paia, Maui, she was a retired State of Hawaii Department of Education teacher at Kaiser High School. Preceded in death by her husband, Toby, she is survived by her sons, Robert (Kyoko) and John (Eri) Hatanaka; three grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Kobayashi and Esther Mookini. Private services held.
