Mary McDonough Rosehill
Mary McDonough RosehillMary McDonough Rosehill, 90 of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on November 29, 2016. Mary was born on August 18, 1926 in Fallriver, Massachusetts, to Margaret and Thomas McDonough, and was raised in Hartford, Connecticut. She attended St. Joseph College in Washington, D.C., she met her future husband, Ambrose "Amby" Rosehill who was attending Georgetown Law School. Mary was pursuing her Master's Degree at the same time. Amby and Mary returned to Honolulu and were married in 1951. She later returned to the East Coast where she worked for Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, and moved back to Washington, D.C. Where she was a speech writer and editor for the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon until her retirement. She returned to Hawaii to be close to family and friends. Throughout her life, Mary was fiercely independent with an ardent love of politics, travel, family, and friends. Mary is survived by her brother Paul McDonough (Arlene), from Niantic, Connecticut, Nephew Edward "Bud" Forand, Connecticut, and her children, Betty - Anne Rosehill, Adrian Rosehill (Andrea), Alan Rosehill (Melanie), grand- children, Aja Lee, Ali Mae, Tia Leilani, Ethan Kawika, Kainoa, Courtney and 4 great-grand- children and 2 great-great- grandchildren. Services to be held, at the Neuman Center on the campus of the University of Hawaii Friday, January 27, 2017. Visitation at 9:00 a.m. With mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Please no flowers.
