88, of Honolulu passed away on January 11, 2017 in Kuakini Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on August 28, 1928 in Hilo. He was a veteran of the Army and a Central Pacific Bank retiree. He is survived by his wife, Miyoko Kuwahara; daughter, Susan Emi Kuwahara; grand- children, Colene (Christopher) Nakamoto and Thomas Pekelo. He is also survived by a brother, Ronald Kuwahara; and sisters, Shizue Miyasato, Betty Nagao, and Ellen (James) Fukuda.
