98, of Kailua, passed away on Jan 5, 2017. Born on Dec 31, 1918 in Honolulu, she was preceded in death by husband, George Cabral Sr., daughters Antoinette, Kathleen & grand- son Robert Bunch. She is survived by son George Jr.; grandchildren Vernon Bunch III, Carole Lockard, Darlene Sousa, Patrick, Julie, Dean and Keith DeMello, Lisa Bunch-Kepoo, Jennifer Duke, and Jordan Cabral; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother E. Marks; sisters D. Carvalho, F. Freso & C. Gonsalves. The eldest girl of 10 children, she and Catherine for years were instrumental in bringing the large but close-knit, extended family together at annual gatherings in honor of then- family matriarch, the late Frances Marks. She was an active member of the Kailua Seniors and was adored for her fierce wit and love of hula. Her grand- children cherish memories of decorating "Granny's" traditional Christmas nativity with wheat, fruit and other seasonal offerings.
