August 12, 1936 - November 17, 2016 Roberta passed away peacefully at home in Daly City, California on November 17, 2016. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, she graduated from Kaimuki High School. She went to secretarial school and enjoyed a career as a professional secretary. She is predeceased by her first husband, William O'Neill and her second husband, Peter Berteau. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Hisu Adams and husband Ed Adams, Chequita Hisu Fitzpatrick and husband Lawrence Fitzpatrick and Arleen Lopez Gates and husband Richard Gates, her children, Brendan O'Neill and Shivaun O'Neill as well as extended family. Known as "Bobbie" to many, she enjoyed food, talking story and travelling. She moved to the mainland in the late 1950's and lived in the Bay Area for over 55 years. However, she kept the spirit of aloha through her study of hula, pidgin English and all things Hawaiian. She was an active member of her neighborhood association, the Alzheimers Association and the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California. Memorial services with ashes at designated beach to be announced at a future date.
