Age 78, of Honolulu, passed away on January 3, 2017. He was born in Hilo, Hawaii and was an electrical engineer and a retired captain in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is survived by wife Renee Matsuo; sons Scott, Dr. Sam Jr, Ryan and Mark Matsuo; five grandchildren; brothers Ted and Ray Matsuo; sisters Madeline Chiba and Elsie Ng. Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, visitation 10:00 a.m. and service 11:00 a.m. Aloha attire.
