FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Volkart, Mary Ellen (Drew)
Volkart, Mary Ellen (Drew)VOLKART, MARY ELLEN (DREW) November 9, 1919 - February 2, 2017 It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Mary Ellen Volkart, a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grand mother, and Aunt. She lived a remarkable life, having lived through the great depression, serving in World War II as a Navy nurse, and raising a family while providing a warm and loving home for them as she supported our father's moves to California, Oregon, Maryland and Hawaii. After the death of our Dad in 1992, she was able to satisfy her desire to travel, and travel she did, all over the United States and Canada, as well as trips to China, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Panama and throughout the Caribbean. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Edmund Volkart, and her brother Raymond Drew. Left to be warmed by her memory are daughters Karen Lewis and Kirsten Volkart-Pagan (Charles); grandchildren Jamaal Lewis (Talia), Zachary Lewis, Alicia Openshaw (Joseph), Edmund Pagan (Desirae) and 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her home care "Angel" Anne.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
