Evelyn Tokue Kawamoto Konno
of Honolulu was born on September 17, 1933. She was a humble, selfless and kind individual who had a sharp sense of humor and loved Hawaiian music. As part of the 1952 U.S. Olympic Swim Team in Helsinki, Finland, she brought home 2 bronze medals for her country, state, and family. After retiring from teaching, she was an active volunteer at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. On January 22, 2017, Evelyn slipped away to eternal peace. Preceded in death by her daughter Melanie Ofoia, she is survived by daughter Bonnie Shishido (Mark), grandchildren Brooke Saito (Chad), Jamie and Carlie Shishido, Jonathan, Jessica and Joshua Ofoia, great grand- children Cameron and Mason. Celebration of Life at Diamond Head Mortuary on Friday, March 3, 2017. Visitation at 4:30pm. Services at 5:30pm. Casual attire. No flowers.
