Age 74, of Haleiwa, HI, passed away Jan. 24, 2017 in Haleiwa. He was born Apr. 21, 1942 in Honolulu. He was a member of the Operators Engineers-Local Union #3 & #302. He retired from Delta Construction. He is survived by wife, Ginger- Lei Kauwalu; sons: Melvin (Barbara) Kauwalu Jr., Kevin Magallones; daughter, Deborah (James) Leong Jr.; brother, Tarzone Kauwalu; sister, Yvonne Cox; and 6 grandchildren. Visitation 5:00 p.m., Wednesday (Mar. 1) at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Funeral service 6:00 p.m. Burial 10:00 a.m., Thursday (Mar. 2) at Mililani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
