Nalini Heidi Blumer-Buell
Nalini Heidi Blumer-Buell left us peacefully in her sleep on January 21, 2017 at the age of 41. She was a loving, optimistic, and well-loved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, grand- daughter, and friend. She will be greatly missed. Nalini was born on November 28, 1975 and grew up in Mu'olea, Hana, Maui. She lived with a challenging condition called arthrogryposis. Nalini fought everyday for her life and independence. She attended Hana High and Elementary School and went on to earn a BA in English at the University of Hawaii. After graduating she settled on O'ahu. Nalini could frequently be seen on The Bus heading from Waipahu to Honolulu for church, a coffee drink, or a cruise down Waikiki to watch the waves and the people. Nalini's great loves were Girl Scouts, her community at Church of the Crossroads, friends, and family. She adored her niece Eila and nephew Mateo as well as all of her cousins. Her family would like to thank the many people who supported Nalini including teachers, health providers, family, and friends. A special thanks to the people of the Church of the Crossroads who shared their friendship, faith, and community with Nalini. Thank you also to her aids for their ongoing support. Donations in memory of Nalini may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children in Honolulu, who provided Nalini with care during her childhood, or to Maui Special Olympics. Plans for a celebration of life are pending.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
