Cora Ann FreitasAge 80, of Sandy, Utah, died February 17, 2017, at LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah. Mrs. Freitas was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and was a longtime resident of Honolulu, Hawai`i. She retired after 34 years of service from her position at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children as Vice President of Patient Services. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Edward Marcellus Freitas; is survived by daughter, Patricia Yamane (Darrel) of Sandy, Utah; sons Keoki (Kawehi Lum) of Aiea and Kepa (Lindsey) of Honolulu; 5 grandchildren, Kellie-Ann, Kristie-Ann, and Kimberlie-Ann Yamane, and Kiley Kawena and Edward Kainalu Freitas; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives; and servants of Christ. Cora had a lifelong love of dance and performing. In retirement, she enjoyed volunteering for Action Line, AARP, and various other groups in Hawai`i and Utah. She was a loving wife, exceptional mother, and cherished Nana. She had a great sense of humor and spent her life selflessly caring for others in need. Her life was dedicated to Family, Home and Christ. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Monday, March 13, 2017, at The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, 1184 Bishop St. Honolulu, HI 96813. Mass to follow. Casual Attire. Private burial service to be held at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. In remembrance of Cora, and as expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace Renewal Campaign.
