FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Leonora “Lenny” (Sudo) Galik
Leonora Nov 15, 1928 - Feb 24,2017 Leonora "Lenny" Galik passed away peacefully at home on Friday morning, February 24th surrounded by her family. Born Yukiko Sudo in 1928, Lenny grew up in Mill Village, on a sugar plantation in Peepeekeo, Hawaii. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Clarence "Dave" Galik, and moved to Pearl City where she raised three sons, Mark, Christopher and Matthew. Lenny was a devoted wife and mother whose hospitality and cooking were legendary. When her sons moved away to the Mainland, she expressed her love to them in an endless stream of cards, letters and care packages. Lenny was fond of Big Band Music, old movies, flowers, sweets and small animals including family pets Popoki, (the cat) and Bunny, (the rabbit) whom she cared for lovingly. In the final years of her life, she struggled with Alzheimer's disease and was cared for by her son Matthew and her son-in-law, Chris Marchetti, in their home in the Oakland Hills. Having her husband of 61 years, Dave, at her side and surrounded by family and friends in a familiar and loving environment undoubtedly prolonged her life and gave her wonderful moments of lucidity even until her final days. Hers was a charmed life filled with love and she will be dearly missed, not only by family but by a host of friends and well-wishers. A Celebration of Lenny's Life will be held at the family home in the Oakland Hills on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Please contact Matthew Galik at (510) 697-1212 to RSVP and for directions.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
