FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Frank “Pakinimaster” Kazuo Uehara, Sr.
Frank Frank "Pakinimaster" Kazuo Uehara, Sr. 66, of Maunalaha, Makiki, Hawai'i, died on Sunday February 19th, 2017. He was born in Honolulu to George Uehara and Betty Maeshiro (deceased), on June 4, 1950. For over 30 years, he was employed by the City and County Golf Course Division working out of the Pali, West Loch and the Ala Wai Golf Course where he retired as a Maintenance Supervisor. A long-time community contributor, he volunteered at Makiki Park teaching "Good Fun Cooking for Men Only", at Booth Park coaching PAL sports, at the Ala Moana Lawn Bowling Club maintaining the greens. A music lover from an early age, he was the lead singer and guitar player for The Dominos (late 1960s) and more recently played pakini bass for Keith and Carmen Haugen. Remembered and missed always by his wife of 46 years, Katherine "Kats" (Akana); son Frank Jr (wife Nora); daughter Keikilani (husband Edgar); grandchildren, Levi, Joshua, Joelle, Megan, Elijah, Brayden, Elle; father, George; brothers, Sidney, Chester (wife Merleen); sisters, Judy Koza and Cynthia Hakikawa (husband Wayne). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 19th at the Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel. Visitation 9:30a. Service at 10:30a. Casual, Hawaiian attire. No flower arrangements. Flower lei welcomed.
