Calvin K. K. Chun
83, passed away February 16, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada, after a long struggle for health. A celebration of his life will be held in December 2017 with family and close friends to scatter his ashes over Honolulu. Cal was born to Alexander Chun and Florence Fong Chun in Honolulu, graduated from Roosevelt High School and the University of Hawaii with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, where he was a member of Peng Hui Fraternity. Cal was a respected Development and Business Management Consultant throughout Hawaii and California. He also loved to play the piano and to entertain, which allowed him to mingle with and "sit in" with many musicians in Honolulu and Los Angeles. He greatly enjoyed travel and imparted many humorous and educational stories. Cal was very proud of his children and grand- children and looked forward to their visits. Cal is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sharon Nichols Chun; children, Gaye Lynne Chun, Grady Lee Chun (Yuki), Nicole Carnation Grolman (Mirek), and Derek Carnation Chun (Lisa); grandchildren, Paul Dickey, Aaron Chun, Kingston Carnation, Kaiulani Carnation, and Michael Grolman; sister, Irma Yen (George); former wife Theresa Tam Chun; and many nieces and nephews.
