Stanton Mun Sin Ho
Passed away at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday March 10, 2017. He was born on April 20, 1952 to Stanley Q.C. Ho of Hanalei, Kauai and to Lilly Ho, of Pauoa Valley, Oahu, and had two siblings Russell and Valerie. He is survived by wife Joanne, sons Stuart and Brenton, daughter-in-law Darlene and three grandchildren: Edison (8), Liam (5) and June (4), and mother-in-law Amy Otoshi. Stanton is a graduate of Roosevelt HS '70, and the University of Hawaii Kapiolani Culinary College. In 1990 he received the University of Hawaii Outstanding Distinguished Alumni award. He also received five other international awards in the Jean-Marie Sibenaler Chocolate International Competition in Paris, France. He was the President/Chairman of the United States World Cup Pastry Team and led the team to America's first Gold Medal Championship at the Coupe de Monde la Patisserie in 2001 in Lyon, France. Paris Gourmet named him "Pastry Chef of the Millennium" in 2000. Most recently he was a consultant for the Kings Hawaiian Company in California. Stanton is recognized for teaching college culinary classes and mentoring of college students entering the field of pastry all over the United States. A memorial "Celebration of Life" service will be held for Stanton on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 1:00pm 2:00pm at the Palm MortuaryEastern, located at 7600 S.
