Mark “Bradda Helms” Miyashita
Mark Tadashi Miyashita, 57, better known as "Helms" or "Uncle Helms" passed away peacefully at Maui Memorial Medical Center on April 28, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, at He Piko No Waiohuli, 881 Lau'ie Dr., Kula, Maui. Casual attire. Helms was born on March 22, 1960 in Honolulu to Arthur and Doris Miyashita. He lived in Aiea and part-time in Haliimaile, Maui. He loved playing sports, especially football in high school, and later playing and coaching baseball. After graduating from Aiea High class of 78, he became part of a life-long group of braddas he loved dearly, "The Aiea Boys." He worked at Bright Aviation and Hawaiian Airlines, beginning in customer service and ending his career in 2003 as chief ramp agent. He enjoyed golfing and maybe "a little" drinking with his co-workers and friends, fishing off his good friend Mike's boat in Waianae, and his all-time favorite hobby, Samoan crabbing. In 2009, after eight years together, he married his love Milanette Akiona who also worked at Hawaiian Airlines. Shortly thereafter, he became a baptized and faithful member of the True Jesus Church. Helms is survived by his loving wife Milanette Akiona-Miyashita, nieces and nephews, The Aiea Boys, and a brother, Don Miyashita.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
