(78), passed peacefully at home on April 22nd. Survived by husband Lawrence M. Welsh, daughters Valerie (William) Larita, Pamela (Floyd) Mikasa and Sandra (William) Reed, son Jason (Nicole) Welsh, 9 grand- children and sisters Blanche Tsuruma and Diane (Jack) White. Joyce was born in Honolulu to George and Vivian Tsuruma. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She and Larry, a retired U.S. Postal Worker, were married for 50 years. Joyce was as determined as she was beautiful. She will be remembered for her strength, faith and adventurous spirit. Joyce remained active until she succumbed to illness. She was much loved and will be deeply missed. The family thanks Dr. Sue Lim, Raquel Buenaslor, LPN, and Arceli Rizalda, RN, and caregivers through MetroCare Hawaii and St. Francis Hospice for their care and compassion. Services will be held May 17th at the Makai Chapel of Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary. Family visitation at 5:30 p.m. Services at 6:00. Casual attire. Inurnment at the National Cemetery of the Pacific on May 18th at 10:30 a.m.
