Frances Tomiko Tango
91, passed away on May 16, 2017 at 15 Craigside. She was born on March 28, 1926 in Honolulu to Kyusuke and Miya Tojyo. She was the third of four sisters. The family moved back to Fukushima, Japan in her early teen years and she graduated from high school in Fukushima. She returned to Hawaii after the war. She later met and married Richard Tango in 1950. Frances was a cashier at the Sheraton Surfrider Hotel and a Japanese Language teacher at Aiea Taiheiji Japanese School. She was part owner of Honolulu Plumbing Co., Ltd. She is survived by son, Glenn (Elizabeth) Tango, daughters Amy (Kenneth) Mijo and Iris (Ferdinand) Palumbarit and son-in-law James Wiltschko; grandchildren Kimberly (Brian Kocher) Palumbarit, Allison Palumbarit and Scott Wiltschko and two great grandchildren. She is predeceased by husband Richard K. Tango and daughter May Tango. Frances was a member of the Soto Mission of Aiea. She enjoyed playing mahjong and visiting family in Seattle at cherry blossom time. After the passing of her husband, she traveled to many parts of the world.
