HERMAN KANEIKAPOHAKEAOKALANI NAKI
JULY 6, 1930 - MAY 7, 2017 Died peacefully in his Aiea home at the age of 86. He was a graduate of Farrington High c/o '49 and served in the Korean War. He retired from Hickam AFB as a heavy equipment operator. His retirement years were filled by babysitting, honey-do lists, p/t usher at Aloha Stadium, volunteer usher at St. Elizabeth Parish, an avid bowler, traveler, and a former musician of Nahenahe Serenaders. He married the love of his life of 62 years, Helen Y. F. L. (Yuen) Naki on August 21, 1954. Predeceased by his son, Sterling J. Naki. Survived by wife, Helen; daughters, Stephanie L. Shimizu, Stacey Mailelauli'i Naki; daughter-in-law, Laurie Demello Naki; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews. Services: Friday, June 2, at St. Elizabeth Parish in Aiea. Visitation 9am; Military honors 10am; Catholic Mass 10:30am. Private burial.
