91, of Honolulu, an Army veteran and retired Captain for the Federal Fire Department, passed away on May 24, 2017, in Honolulu. He was born in Makawao, Maui, on September 27, 1925, and raised in Huelo, Maui. He is survived by his wife, Frances; sons, Mitchell (Mana) and Christian (Darlynn); daughter, Lei Kumagai; grandchildren, Van, Kylee, Akeamakamae, Kuupuamaeole and Akira Kumagai; great grand- children, Kamalu and Lowen; and by nieces and nephews.
