Nanette Preston Hutton
80 of Honolulu died on May 1. She is survived by her husband George, son Grant and grandsons Gareth and Gavan of Georgetown, TX, grandson Greg of Thornton, CO, daughter Audrey of Honolulu, sister Jorae Miller of Leawood, KS, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was born in St. Louis and raised in Kansas City and moved with her husband to Hawaii in 1965. A child advocate locally and nationally, Nan served on the Board of Le Jardin Academy for over 40 years as well serving as President of both the Hawaii Chapter of Waif and the Waif National Board working on behalf of homeless children with special needs. She was honored with awards for outstanding service by both organizations. An accomplished violinist, she also served on the Board of the Honolulu Symphony. All who ever met "Nan" knew her as a gracious, loving person. She loved to entertain, and her Celebration of Life will be just that a party celebrating her love of friendship and her love for children, helping others, and bringing happiness everywhere she went. Her Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 8 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm in Kailua, Hawaii at Le Jardin Academy's Kerr Lookout. The Hutton Family would appreciate contributions in her memory to the Le Jardin Academy Annual Fund.
