Ernest William “Bill” Sheerer
ERNEST WILLIAM BILL SCHEERER Born May 18, 1932, in Wabash, Indiana, suddenly and peacefully passed away at his home in Honolulu on his 85th birthday. After graduating from Purdue University in 1954, Bill served in the U.S. Armyas First Lieutenant, Chemical Corpsfor two years.He then entered Indiana University School of Dentistry graduating in 1961 and moving that same year to Hawaiito be adental resident atThe Queen's Medical Center (QMC).Billenjoyed a 45-year career in private practice prior to retiring in 2008.In "retirement"Billremained actively involved with the QMC dental programas well as other dental organizations.He enjoyed Hawaiian music, was a long-time member of the Elks Club, was an avid tennis player,as well as more recently, an avid golfer enjoying lessons and playing with friends andhis golf group. His parents, Ernest W. and Anna L., and sister Jane A. preceded him in death. Bill is survived byIngrid, his wife of 43 years. A Celebration of Life will be held onJune 28, 2017, at 5:30 p.m.at Oahu Country Club.A private interment ceremonywill be heldat the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific atPunchbowl.
