65, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the St. Francis Hospice in Nuuanu after losing his battle with cancer. He leaves his wife of 40 years, Yuk Sun; his daughter, Ashely and her husband, Lincoln Lye; his son, Spencer and his wife, Jeanne; and many extended family. Born and raised in Zhongshan, Guangdong, the son of Shek Chau Au and Miao Xi Yan, he immigrated to Hawaii from Hong Kong at the age of 35 and was a longtime resident of Honolulu. He was employed in the construction, hotel, and restaurant industries. Man Chu was an adventurous traveler and a supportive figure for his entire family. He enjoyed the little things in life like growing fruits, vegetables and raising dogs. He had a passion for fishing and his pastimes included cooking and spending quality time with his family. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 28, 9:00AM at the Borthwick Mortuary Makai Chapel, followed by 1:00PM burial at the Valley of the Temple.
