Minako Higuchi
Minako Higuchi passed away May 24, 2017, in Portland, Oregon. Born in Nanking, China on January 1, 1942, she spent her childhood in Tokyo, Japan where she attended Aoyama Gakuin Elementary and Morimura Gakuen High School. In her twenties, she moved to the United States, residing first in Maryland. There, she lived on a yacht and sailed up and down the East Coast, traveling as far as South America and Canada. In the 1970s, she moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where she lived for 45 years. After retiring from Macy's (formerly Liberty House) fine jewelry, she moved to Portland, Oregon in 2015 to be near family. Minako was an avid golfer who also enjoyed sailing, traveling, sky diving and good food. She is survived by her sister, Michiko Senaga, nieces, Nancy Senaga and Nina Freauff and two young grand-nephews.
