March 11th, 1944 - August 22nd, 2017 Vivian Umaki, full of grace, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2017, surrounded by those who loved her in spirit and presence. She will be remembered as a loving wife to Clyde, tirelessly and competently helping the establishment and development of his successful periodontal practice. She nurtured the growth of his entire staff personally; many of whom have stayed over 30 - 40 years. She will also be remembered as a devoted mother to Jon, Michael and his wife Tracie, adoring grandmother to Alex and Alivia, mother to her sweet dog, Leia, and treasured friend to so many. She will be celebrated for her strength of character, generosity of spirit, elegance, and beauty inside and out. Vivian was a warm, bright light who touched the lives of everyone she met, the epitome of grace. We will celebrate all that she was to each of us, and her spirit will forever guide us...she will be our guardian angel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vivian's name to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Please join us in celebrating her life at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary on Sunday, September 10, 2017. Visitation at 4pm. Memorial at 5pm. Aloha attire.
