Francis “Frank” Hideo Nakata
(September 20, 1933 - August 23, 2017) Francis passed away at home in Los Angeles, CA from pulmonary fibrosis. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii (Moiliili) and graduated from McKinley High School in 1951. He moved to California after high school, served in the Korean War, and resided in Los Angeles for over sixty years. Francis retired in 1998 from United Airlines after 39 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Alicia Ho Nakata; by his daughters Janae Nakata (Bob Sanders) and Vicki Nakata (David Graetz); and by his sister Jeanne Gee of Seattle, Washington. A memorial service was held in Los Angeles on August 28, 2017. Francis' ashes will be interred at Nu'uanu Memorial Park and Mortuary at a later date.
