Vera Estes, 91, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2017. Born in Honolulu, she was the executive secretary for vice- commanders at Hickam Air Force Base, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed golfing, playing the piano, and writing, having several of her articles printed in the Honolulu Advertiser. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Estes, Jr. and brothers Joseph Lui and James Lui. Survived by sisters, Lily "Peewee" Yue, Helen Lau, Eloise Lee, Wella Fernandes, brothers John Lui and Peter Lui, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at Borthwick Mortuary Mauka Chapel on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Visitation at 9:00am. Services will commence at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at 1:00pm. Casual attire. No gifts please.
