JEAN KEIKO YAMASHITA
JEAN KEIKO YAMASHITAJean Keiko (Inouye) Yamashita, wife of Henry Kunio Yamashita passed away on May 21, 2017, surrounded by family in Anaheim, California. Jean was born in Honolulu, Hawaii at Kapiolani Hospital on September 2, 1929 to Richard and Dorothy (Furukido) Inouye. She grew up with her Aunt Nakano in Waipahu, who owned a small noodle shop, then later moved and lived with her father and step-mother in Kapahulu. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1947 then worked part time for Dole Pineapple Company and permanently at Magazine House on Fort Street in Downtown Honolulu. In 1953 she met her future husband, Henry, and moved to Los Angeles where they were married on July 17, 1954. They were about to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary when she passed away. Jean worked for the city of Los Angeles recreation department and Attractive Homeware before moving to Cerritos where she worked at Noritsu as an executive secretary until retiring in October of 2001. Jean was a warm, compassionate and caring woman. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother (Tutu) with a heart of gold. An angel loved by all. She is survived by her husband Henry, her three children, Lori Duffy, Ross Yamashita and Keith Yamashita; grandchildren Kaili Duffy, Kellan Duffy, Shae Duffy, Danielle Yamashita, and Kai Yamashita. She also leaves her great friend Pat Method, a former neighbor and confidant along with her many friends and relatives across the country. As she requested there was no funeral or services, just a quiet goodbye with family, nieces, nephews, sister, and brother in law. ~ We will love and miss this angelic woman every day ~
