LILLIAN ISOBE MAKUA
72 of Honolulu passed away peacefully at Queens Medical Center with family at her side on August 9, 2017. She was born on September 12, 1944 to Takeshi Isobe and Tadami Harano in Wailuku Maui. She is a graduate of Maui High, class of '62 and the University of Hawaii, class of '67. She worked as a public school math teacher, Asian food sales representative for Mum's Taisei and Nishimoto Trading Co and more recently volunteered at Straub Medical Center. She was preceded in death by both parents and her brother Glen Isobe (Ione). She is survived by her husband Charles Makua, daughters Temujene Makua (Jared), Cherise Makua (Cyrus), Liane Nakamura (Keith) and son Travis Nimii (Judith), sister Elaine Kurosawa (Shige) and brother Alan Isobe (Rhoda) and 8 grand children and many nieces and nephews. Private services were performed by Tensho Kotai Jingukyo of which she was a proud practicing member. All monetary gifts will be donated to various charities Lillian supported.
