Calvin Yen Loy Ching
93, of Honolulu passed away peacefully on Sept. 14, 2017. He was born in Honolulu, graduated from MPI in 1942. He worked in the Army as a machinist specializing in sheet metal. He founded his own business, Acme Sheet Metal. Calvin had a passion for 2 things, people and games. In his younger days, he was active in multiple Chinese societies, especially the Ching Clan Society where he served as past President and current Treasurer. He was active with the See Dai Doo Society where he did ballroom dancing, playing tin gau(a dominoes game) and bingo. He is survived by his wife, Annie Wong Ching of 69 years; children Carolyn (Clayton) Chan, Clyde (Dee) Ching, and Claudette (Alan) Nishigaya; grandchildren Christopher Chan, Megan Ching (Daniel Young), Chelsea Chan, Jenny Ching, Adam Nishigaya, Joshua Nishigaya, and Christine Nishigaya. A memorial service will be held on Oct. 2, 2017 at 9am at Diamond Head Cemetery.
