FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

MORRIS HEU
MORRIS HEUMorris Heu passed away, surrounded by his family, on August 16, 2017, at Castle Hospital. Mr. Heu, a Korean War Veteran, had just celebrated his 88th Birthday on Saturday, August 12. After graduating from St. Louis College in 1948, Mr. Heu attended St. Mary's College, and Woodberry College. He received additional training as a Medical Technician at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. After his discharge from the military, he further pursued his education, and studied as a pre-dental student. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed by the Hawaii Air National Guard, Department of Defense. Mr. Heu was an active member of the Korean War Veterans of Hawaii, Chapter 1, and the Pali Seniors group. He remained active practicing with his Tai Chi group on a weekly basis. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Gladys, and his daughter, Valerie, son, Vernon, and grandson, Brenden Aiu-Heu. His sisters are, Ruby Choy, Cornelia Tahara, Marilyn (Cleaveran) Law, and Sylvia Carruthers. Services for Mr. Heu will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at St. John Vianney Church, located at 920 Keolu Drive, in Kailua. Visitation will be at 9:30 am, with services beginning at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, in Kaneohe, Oahu.
