Stanley Masaaki Takamine
89, passed away on September 13, 2017. He was born on August 5, 1928 in Honolulu to Seikin and Yasuko Takamine. He graduated from Maryknoll High School and served as Corporal in the United States Army. He worked at Hawaiian Electric for 30 years as a Land Surveyor and Project Coordinator. Stanley was a highly respected community leader of the Hawaii United Okinawa Association and the Hawaii Shuri-Naha Club. He also represented the East Manoa Lions Club at many local and international events. Stanley is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Wayne; daughters, Gayle (Clifford) Lau and Stephanie Pulido; brothers Michael Takamine and Robert (Elaine) Takamine; sisters Joan Yukitomo and Mae Whang; sister- in-law Lillian Teruya; 5 grand- children, Jaime, Justin, Ryan, Alyssa, and Trey and three great- grandchildren, Jacob, Destiny and Noah. A memorial service Celebrating Stanley's Life will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Hawaii Okinawa Center 94-587 Ukee St. in Waipahu. Visitation is at 5:00 p.m. Service is at 6:00 p.m. with refreshment and Okinawan entertainment to follow. Casual attire and no flowers please.
